Started Ozark at 9pm on a work night and finished the whole first season by 4am
Told myself I'd watch one episode in bed and the next thing I knew it was getting light out and my alarm was going off 2 hours later. I went into work on maybe 3 hours of sleep and a gas station coffee, and now my girlfriend hides the remote on Sundays. How do you all keep a show from eating your whole night?
The part about the girlfriend hiding the remote on Sundays made me laugh because my wife did the exact same thing to me. What finally worked for me was setting a hard rule that I can only start a new show on a Friday or Saturday night. That way even if I binge until 3am, I can sleep in the next day and not feel like a zombie at work. Another thing that helped was turning off autoplay on whatever app I'm using, because once the next episode starts counting down I just can't stop myself from letting it roll. If it's a work night I also make myself stop at the end of an episode instead of mid episode, since stopping halfway through makes me want to keep going way more. It's not perfect and I still slip up sometimes, but those two things alone saved me from a lot of 3 hour sleep nights.
