I was looking up old ratings and found out 'M*A*S*H' pulled in over 100 million viewers for its last episode

I was watching some old reruns the other night and got curious about how many people used to watch shows back then. I looked it up on my phone and found an article that said the final episode of 'M*A*S*H' in 1983 had over 100 million people watching. That's just crazy to think about. Now, a huge hit show might get 10 million people to watch a new episode when it first comes out. It really shows how TV has changed, where everyone was watching the same thing at the same time. I remember my parents talking about that night like it was a big event. It makes me wonder if we'll ever have a show that brings that many people together again. Does anyone else have a show they remember being a huge shared moment like that?

Oh, that's a great find. I remember that night too. Our whole neighborhood was quiet because everyone was inside watching it. It felt like the whole country just stopped for a couple of hours. I don't think we'll ever see something like that again with how we watch TV now.

Totally get what you mean, @lisab43. That shared quiet was something special. I walked my dog right before it started and didn't see a single person outside. It was like the whole street was holding its breath. Now everyone's on different shows or streaming seasons late. We lost that feeling of everyone being in it together at the exact same time.
