I finally watched The Sopranos last month after years of hearing about it
Comparing it to modern shows like Succession, the slower pacing in The Sopranos actually made the characters feel more real and complicated, but has anyone else struggled to get through the dream sequences on a first watch?

Three dream sequences in a show that long and people still complain about pacing?

I get where you're coming from, but I see it totally differently. Three dream sequences might not sound like a lot, but it depends on how long each one is and what they actually add. In this show, the last dream sequence went on for like 15 minutes and it just felt like filler to me. The pacing problem isn't about the number of dreams, it's about the whole season dragging in places where it shouldn't. When you spend that much time on dream stuff instead of moving the actual plot forward, it starts to feel like the writers are just buying time. I'd rather have one really good dream sequence that tells us something new about a character than three that just repeat what we already know. So yeah, I'm one of those people complaining and I don't think it's unfair.
