Warning: don't trust the speed of the new touchscreen POS vs the old keyboard one

We switched our registers at the diner in Tulsa about 3 weeks back. Management pushed the new touchscreen system hard, said it would cut order times in half. I gave it a fair shot for two full shifts, and it's a mess. My fingers keep hitting the wrong toppings, and the screen lags right when the lunch rush hits, which is exactly when you can't afford a freeze. The old keyboard system had physical buttons, so I could punch in a burger and fries without even looking down. After last Tuesday, I went back to the old terminal in the corner, and my ticket times dropped by like 40 seconds per order. Has anyone else fought this update at their place, or did your store just force the switch on everyone?
