The trick that finally stopped our drive-thru order mix-ups cold

I work at a fast food place in Phoenix and we kept getting orders wrong like 3 times a shift. Smashed burritos, wrong drinks, you name it. I started reading each order back twice and asking the customer to confirm before I hit send. Cut our mistakes down to maybe 1 a week over the last 2 months. Has anyone else found a weird little habit that saved you from getting yelled at by customers?

Read each order back twice" - dude, you're just asking for them to change their mind on the third read-through and really test your patience.

Shook my head so hard reading this, @carr.blake. I mean, are you trying to make them second guess everything? Reading it back twice is already a gamble. The third time is just begging for a "wait, actually I wanted the extra cheese" or "can we swap the sides?" moment. Like, they're going to sit there and think really hard about every single option you just listed again. It takes forever and I swear they always end up changing something small right when you think you're done. It's like they need to hear it three times to decide you're wrong. Honestly, I just read it back once and hope for the best.
