The great coffee machine flood of last Tuesday

I was closing up at the cafe alone, and the big espresso machine started making a weird gurgle. Next thing I know, hot water and grounds are pouring out from under it, all over the floor and my shoes. I had to shut off the water main at the back wall, which I only knew from a training video six months ago. Then I spent 45 minutes mopping up about two gallons of water before I could even start figuring out the machine. Has anyone else had a major equipment failure right at closing time? What's your go-to move to stop the panic?

That sounds like a nightmare, lol. My go-to is just taking a deep breath before touching anything. Panic makes everything ten times worse.

Remember my buddy trying to fix his sink without turning the water off first. @noahhall is right about panic, because that guy flooded his kitchen. Sometimes the deep breath is the most important tool in the box.
