Shoutout to the guy who ordered a 'light ice' smoothie during our machine meltdown
Our main blender motor gave up yesterday, right at the start of the lunch rush. The backup is this ancient unit that sounds like a jet engine and overheats if you run it for more than 90 seconds straight. Of course, this dude comes in and wants a large mango smoothie, light ice, which means it needs to blend longer to get smooth. I had to do it in three separate pulses, letting the thing cool for five minutes between each, with a line of people watching. What should have been a two-minute drink took almost twenty minutes from start to finish. He was super patient about it, which was the only win in that whole mess. Anyone else have a piece of equipment that always fails at the worst possible time?

Was it really that big of a deal though? The guy was patient and you got it done.

Honestly that backup blender is the real villain here. A machine that can't handle its one job for more than 90 seconds is a liability. The shop owner needs to bite the bullet and get that thing serviced or replaced before it kills the next rush.
