Rant: A guy at the deli counter complained about my gloves for 4 straight minutes
Yesterday this older dude watched me restock the turkey slices and goes off about how the latex gives him hives just looking at them. I told him we switch to nitrile at 2pm but he kept going on about how back in his day nobody wore gloves and the food was better. I stood there with my tongs while he listed every store policy violation he imagined, then he bought the same turkey anyway. It got me thinking about how often customers just need an excuse to vent at us, no matter what we actually do. Anybody else have a regular who finds one weird thing to fixate on and never lets it go?

My friend Kim works at a pharmacy and has this one guy who comes in every Tuesday convinced the blood pressure machine is rigged against him. He stands there for 20 minutes taking his reading over and over, then blames her for the numbers going up. She finally just nods and hands him a free water bottle, and he's been calmer ever since, so sometimes it's not about the gloves at all, it's about them needing someone to hear them out.
