Just realized I was making the same mistake every time a customer asked for a price check
I'd always say 'let me go look' and leave them standing there, but a guy last week said 'can't you just call it in?' and now I use the walkie. Anyone else have a small habit they had to break?

Yeah, "can't you just call it in?" is such a simple fix... I read something once about how those little inefficiencies add up over a whole shift. Makes you wonder what else we do on auto-pilot.

Oh man, I gotta push back a little on that "called it in" thing. I mean, sure, it sounds like a simple fix on paper, but in a lot of jobs you're not supposed to just call it in because there's a paper trail or a protocol you gotta follow. Like if you're a janitor and a bathroom sink is leaking, calling it in might get you told "just put up a sign" instead of actually fixing it. Idk, I've seen that kind of thing happen more than once where the "simple" solution just kicks the problem down the road. It's one of those things that sounds good until you're the one who has to deal with the fallout later.

Right, @the_alex, what's the dumbest auto-pilot task you've caught yourself doing?
