Hit 5000 drive-thru orders in one shift and my brain broke
Last Saturday we had a callout and I was solo on register and window for 9 hours. Somehow I rang up order 5128 that night and that's when it hit me, I'd passed the 5000 mark for the year without even noticing. I started keeping a tally on my notepad back in January after I got bored counting cups. It felt weird to hit that number on a random Tuesday night shift, not even a holiday rush. Anyone else keep weird trackers like that just to see how much you actually do?

Is it just me, or do we all pick the most random stuff to measure? I track how many times I rewatch the same show over the year, but couldn't tell you how many hours I spend doing actual chores. Numbers give us something to hold onto when the days blur together. Like, we count steps but not laughs. We count sales but not moments that made us smile. It's like our brains pick the easiest thing to count instead of the stuff that really says who we are.

Have you noticed how we count the weirdest stuff in life, like steps or days sober, but ignore the big things that actually matter until it hits us like that? It's kinda funny how our brains pick arbitrary numbers to latch onto.
