Heard a teenager ask what a price tag sticker even is
I was ringing up a lady yesterday and her kid, maybe 14, asked why the barcode was on a white square. I told him we used to put price stickers on everything and scan them. He looked at me like I was talking about using a rotary phone. It hit me that I've been behind a register for 12 years now. We used to have to peel those little orange sale stickers off every single can of soup by hand. Now everything comes pre-printed or we just type in a code. Has anyone else had a moment where a young customer made you feel ancient?

Blew a kid's mind showing him the sticker residue still on an old DVD case.

Honestly @fisher.reese you almost got it right but it's not sticker residue really. That's actually the leftover glue from the security seal that used to be on new DVDs back in the day. Those clear circular stickers on the top spindle hole left that ring of sticky stuff after you peeled them off. Yeah the kid probably thought it was a sticker but nope those security seals were a whole different thing. Tbh it's cool you showed them because that kind of old tech detail is getting lost fast. Ngl I kind of miss those seals they made opening a new movie feel special.
