Guy at the register in Fort Worth asked why I always scan the barcode twice, then dropped a truth bomb
He said he's been doing this 11 years and the second beep is just my brain checking the first one, which honestly made me feel seen. Now I gotta know, does anyone else have weird little habits they can't stop doing on shift?

Oh man I do the exact same thing with the card reader, like I gotta hear it confirm twice or I don't trust it. Also I tap my pocket for my keys like 5 times before I leave even though I know they're there.
