Can we talk about the cashier at that diner on Route 9 who refused to split a check 3 ways?
I went to Mama's Diner in Greenville last Tuesday and the waitress told me splitting a $47 check three ways would “mess up her system,” so I asked if she ever broke a $20 for customers and she just walked away, has anyone else dealt with a place that won't split checks for small groups?

Honestly that sounds about right for some of those smaller diners. Last month I was at a place in Millbrook and the cashier told me the same thing about splitting a check for just me and my buddy. Tbh I get that their system might be old but like @david701 said, it's not that hard to just manually punch in three separate totals. Ngl I just paid the whole thing myself and had my friend Venmo me later because I didn't feel like arguing. But that waitress walking away is wild, I would've asked for a manager too just to see what they said.

That waitress was just being lazy. Splitting a check three ways isn't hard. I've worked food service before. Most places do it all the time. She probably didn't want to rerun the card or type in three totals. You should have asked for the manager.
