A customer in Omaha flipped my whole closing routine with one line about the mop water
I used to think the "it's never just one thing" crowd was overthinking it, but last month a regular at our store in Omaha caught me rushing the close and hit me with "you're cleaning for the clock, not the next shift." I brushed it off at first, then came in the next morning to a bucket of grey water somebody had left sitting overnight. Now I dump and rinse the mop water before I clock out, every single time, even if it costs me 6 minutes. Funny how one blunt sentence from a guy buying a $2 coffee can stick with you longer than any training video. What's the small end-of-shift habit somebody called you out on that you actually kept?
