Vent: spent 3 weeks chasing a clipper pull before checking the spring

Kept thinking my Wahl was dying so I swapped blades and oiled everything, but it was just a bent spring I could have fixed in 5 minutes with a $4 part. Any of you got a go-to checklist before you start tearing into a clipper?

Man the spring gets me every time too but heres a thing nobody talks about, its usually not the spring itself thats the problem, its the little plastic nub or screw hole the spring sits in that wears down. So you drop in a fresh $4 spring and it pops out again in a week because the seat is wallowed out. I started checking that mount point with a flashlight before I even order the part. If its chewed up you gotta build it back with a dab of epoxy or just replace the whole housing. Saves you from doing the same job twice like I did on my old Andis.
