Unpopular opinion: I was wrong about using a straight razor for every skin fade for the last two years.

Man, I get it completely. I stuck with a straight razor for skin fades for a long time, too, convinced it was the only way to get that perfect blend. It took a really tough client with super sensitive skin to make me try something else. The control is great, but the risk of irritation is just too high on some people. Switching to a guarded trimmer for the initial bulk removal changed everything for me. The finish is just as clean, and my clients are way more comfortable.

Yeah, "the risk of irritation is just too high" is exactly why I finally switched too.

Ugh, right? It's like you're fighting the skin instead of working with it. My stubbornness cost me a few happy clients before I got it.
