TIL a trick for blending a hard part line from a shop in Austin last Tuesday
Honestly, the barber there showed me how to use a trimmer guard on its side to soften the edge without losing the shape, which saved a tricky cut for a regular who always asks for a sharp look but has wavy hair that fights it, so has anyone else tried something like that on tough textures?

Ever try using a bit of pomade to slick down those wavy bits before you even start cutting? I had a guy with similar hair and that trick gave me a much more workable base to start from, honestly made the whole process less of a fight.

Yeah, a little gel works wonders for taming cowlicks too.

Wait, pomade BEFORE you even start cutting? That's wild to me. I've never heard of anyone doing that, I always thought you wanted the hair totally clean and dry for a fresh cut. Doesn't the pomade get all over your clippers and scissors and make a huge mess? I'm trying to picture how that even works without gumming everything up. How do you keep the pomade from ruining your tools?
