The $320 clipper set I regret buying, my old $80 pair still works better

I dropped $320 on a fancy cordless clipper set back in March because the reviews were glowing. First two weeks felt smooth, but the motor started dragging by the third week on thicker hair. My old $80 corded Wahl from 2019 still cuts cleaner and never bogs down. Has anyone else had a high end clipper fail on them fast, or did I just get a dud from the bad batch?
