That barber on reddit told me to stop using clipper oil on my trimmers

I was going through trimmers every 3 months and this guy said just use a drop of sewing machine oil instead. Six months later my Andis still cut like new, anyone else ditch the fancy oils?

Honestly, wait, sewing machine oil? That's wild. I've been buying that fancy branded stuff for years thinking it was the only option. Definitely gonna hit up the hardware store tomorrow and save like 20 bucks.

Wait, you were really buying the fancy branded stuff this whole time? Dude, I've been using 3-in-1 oil on my old Singer for like ten years now, and it runs smoother than ever. The hardware store stuff is basically the same mineral oil, just without the fancy label and price tag. You'll probably end up with a bigger bottle for less cash too, so you can oil your machine more often without feeling guilty about it.
