That $200 clipper I bought on a whim has been nothing but trouble

I grabbed this fancy wireless clipper for 200 bucks thinking it would speed up my cuts, but the battery dies halfway through every other head and I'm back to plugging it in anyway. Are corded clippers really that outdated or should I just stick with what works and eat the loss?

...and my buddy Shane went through three of those same cordless clippers in a year, always some battery or motor issue. He finally caved and bought a $60 corded Wahl and it's been going strong for like four years now with zero problems. Honestly, unless you're cutting hair on a mountain trail, cords are still the way.

Three cordless clippers in a year? That's wild. I mean, I get it if you're hard on tools, but three? That's not even a budget thing, that's a straight up design flaw. Like, how do you mess up a clipper motor that bad? The battery thing I can kind of understand, but three whole units falling apart? I've had a cheap corded Wahl from Walmart for like six years now and it still cuts like day one. No fancy features, no battery life to worry about, just plug it in and go. I feel like a lot of those cordless brands cut corners on the actual cutting mechanism to save weight or something. Your buddy's story is exactly why I keep telling people to just get a corded one unless they really need the portability.
