How a barber in Barcelona changed my approach to beard trims

When I was in Barcelona for a week, I popped into a small barber shop near my hotel. The barber there used a different hold on his clippers when doing beard edges. He kept his pinky finger extended for stability, which I had never seen before. I tried it back at my shop, and it gives way more control on tricky necklines. Now I use it on every beard trim, and my lines are cleaner. It's a small thing, but it made a big difference. If you're struggling with shaky hands on details, give this a shot. It might help you too.

Ngl, I tried the pinky out thing after hearing about it and it just felt awkward. Honestly a loose grip with my whole hand works better for my control. I guess everyone finds their own way to stop the shakes.

Tried that pinky thing once and almost launched my coffee across the room.

Wow, I totally used to swear by the pinky thing for years. Felt so sure it was the only trick that worked. Your comment made me actually pay attention next time I poured something, and you're right, a relaxed full hand grip is way less clumsy for me too. Funny how we can stick with a method forever until someone points out the obvious better way.
