Hot clippers are ruining my smooth fades, need help
I was working on a detailed skin fade yesterday and my clippers got super hot halfway through. The heat made the blades drag on the skin, which hurt the client and left uneven lines. I stopped to cool them down with a cloth, but it wasted time and the result wasn't great. A buddy told me to oil the blades more, but I already do that before each cut. Is there a trick to keeping clippers cool during long sessions? Maybe a specific brand of coolant or a routine I'm missing. I'd love to hear how you handle this common issue. Your advice could save my next appointment from going south.

Ugh, yes, the hot clipper struggle is so real! I had the same thing happen last week where my main pair just started pulling hair instead of cutting because the blades got so warm. My quick fix is to keep a second set of blades in the fridge on a cold gel pack and swap them out mid-fade. It gives the hot ones time to cool down without stopping the cut.

Tell me about it... my blades got so hot during a busy Saturday they were basically yanking hair out by the roots. Had a guy flinch every time I went near his neck. Ended up spraying them down with my water bottle between every pass, which just made a huge mess. That fridge trick is genius, might have to try keeping a backup set chilling.
