A regular in my chair said something that stuck with me about clipper noise

He told me the quiet hum of my new Wahl Seniors is what finally let him relax during a cut. He said his old barber used a loud, rattling pair that put him on edge. Has anyone else had a client comment on the sound of your tools?

It's probably both the noise and the shake. A loud, rattling clipper sends a message that something's wrong or cheap... that shaky feeling right against your scalp would make anyone tense up. A smooth, quiet tool just feels more professional and careful.

Yeah, that makes total sense. I bet a loud, shaky clipper would feel awful, like a constant buzz right by your ear. Did he say if it was just the noise, or did the vibration from the old ones bother him too?
