Tried to check out Maus at my local library in Boise and got sent to a 'parental review' shelf instead
I put a hold on Maus last week at the Boise library branch on Cole Road, not thinking twice about it. When I went to pick it up, the librarian walked me to a separate cart near the office and said it needed a parent sign off first, which is wild because I'm 34. Turns out a handful of parents filed complaints in April and now anything with war art or nudity in the graphic novel section gets flagged. Has anyone else run into this at their library? I want to push back at the next board meeting but I don't even know where to start.
