The 1984 copy my teacher hid in her desk drawer

Back in 9th grade, my English teacher kept a beat-up copy of 1984 under her desk because the principal said it was too dark for us. She'd hand it out during free reading and collect it before the bell, and that made me want it way more than any assigned book. Has anyone else had a teacher do sneaky work like that to get banned books into student hands?
