Wire transfer held at a credit union in Reno, now I send test amounts
Three weeks ago I sent 4,200 dollars to a contractor for a patio job and the credit union froze it for six days over a mismatch in the beneficiary name. They didn't call me, just quietly put it in a manual review pile. I only found out when the contractor started texting about late fees. Now I always send a one dollar test first and wait for confirmation. Has anyone else had a bank hold a transfer without telling them first?
