Rant: The bank teller in Omaha who asked if my check was for 'the internet'

I was depositing a $475 freelance check at my local branch last month, and the teller looked at the memo line that said 'web services.' She got this really serious face and asked, 'So, is this payment for... the internet?' I had to explain it was for building a website, not buying the whole web. It was just such a funny, specific moment of confusion about how digital work gets paid for. Has anyone else had a bank employee totally misunderstand a common payment note?

Does that mean they think domain names are just digital billboards or something? For some people the web is just a place to park ideas and hope they grow. I guess it depends on whether you see the internet as a tool or a store.
