Overheard a banker joke about my small business loan, then got approved anyway

Last Thursday I was waiting at the local First Horizon branch in Memphis and two loan officers were talking at the desk near me. One said to the other, "She'll probably need a co-signer, her numbers are thin." That was about my file, I knew it because they had my paperwork out. I sat there for 20 minutes stewing, then got called up and approved for the $8,500 equipment loan at 8.2 percent. What got me is how the process ignores the growth I've shown over 3 years of sales records. Has anyone else heard staff talk about their application before the decision came through?
