My buddy told me to switch to a local credit union in Phoenix and I'm so glad I did

I was with a big national bank for years and he kept saying their fees were crazy and the service was slow. I finally moved my main checking to Desert Financial last month after they hit me with a $12 'maintenance fee' for not having a direct deposit set up. Now I'm actually getting a real person on the phone in under five minutes and no more surprise charges. Anyone else make a switch like that and notice a huge difference?

Honestly, I thought the big banks were just how it had to be. My local place proved me wrong in a week.

Yeah, that "how it had to be" feeling is exactly why I switched too.

Local banks are great for actually knowing your name and fixing problems fast.
