My bank's mobile app used to freeze every time I tried mobile deposit

For about 4 months, the app would lock up right when I took a photo of a check. I called support in March and they said to clear the cache, but that didn't help. Last week, I updated my phone's operating system and the app finally worked perfectly. Has anyone else fixed a mobile deposit issue with a simple OS update?

My old phone did that exact same thing for almost a year. It was a Samsung Galaxy S9 and the banking app would just crash on the deposit screen. I tried everything, even a full reset. Finally got a system update last fall and it was like magic, the whole thing just started working. It's crazy how often the fix is something that simple that the support people never even suggest. They always want you to delete and reinstall the app a hundred times instead.

Support teams have to start with the basic fixes, @emmag40, because most issues really are just app glitches.

Totally agree @patricia_kelly, my old phone had the SAME exact problem with Skype.
