Mobile check deposit vs ATM deposit - huge difference in hold times
I compared my bank's mobile deposit to using the ATM for the same $500 check last month. The ATM gave me $200 available instantly, but mobile deposit held the whole amount for 3 business days. Has anyone else noticed this kind of difference with their bank?

Man that's so frustrating lol. It's wild how banks treat mobile deposits like they're way riskier than ATM ones even though the check is the same. I've noticed the exact same thing with my credit union here. The ATM will give me like half the check right away but mobile deposit holds everything for days. Makes no sense to me since both methods should be pretty secure.

Ugh seriously @blair_lewis85 it's maddening. My credit union does the same thing but they also put a hold on ATM deposits if it's over $1000. I once deposited a $50 check through the app and they held it for 5 days. The ATM would've let me withdraw $25 right away. Makes me wonder if they're just trying to push us into using the branch more.
