Just realized my bank transfer took 5 business days... in 2025

I sent $2,400 to my landlord on a Tuesday morning and it didn't hit his account until the following Monday. The teller at the Chase branch said it was just 'normal processing time' and acted like I was crazy for expecting it faster. Has anyone else had a wire transfer or ACH payment take way longer than it should for no clear reason?

Five days for a standard ACH is honestly pretty normal. Banks batch those transfers overnight, weekends don't count, and the system is just slow. Wire transfers are faster but cost like $30. So the teller wasn't wrong.

Ugh, I feel this so much. Waiting five days for money that should be instant is just frustrating, especially when you're counting on it. It's one of those things that feels like it should be faster in 2024, but the system is what it is.
