I went with a local credit union over a big bank for my business account
I mean, everyone online says you need a big national bank for the tech and support. But I opened a business checking account with First Community Credit Union here in Austin about 8 months ago. Their mobile app is just as good, and I'm not paying a monthly fee, which saves me around $25. The one time I needed a notary, they did it for free right in the branch. I know the big names have more ATMs, but I don't really use cash. Has anyone else made a switch like this and found the smaller place actually worked better?

My buddy's small biz switched to a local credit union last year. He says the personal service is way better, they actually know his name.

Yeah, the ATM thing is a bit overblown. I mean, most credit unions are part of those big shared networks now, so you can use thousands of ATMs for free anyway. I hardly ever need cash either, but when I do, it's never been a problem to find a spot.
