Can we talk about that Chase branch in midtown that locked me out at 5:02pm?
I showed up at 5:01pm last Friday, still 4 minutes before the posted closing time, and the manager pointed at his watch through the glass. Now I drive 20 minutes out of my way to a credit union that actually lets you in the door before they shut the lights off. Has anyone else had a bank straight up lie about their hours like that?

Jumping in as the contrarian here, but honestly banks have been locking doors at 5pm on the dot for years, so getting there at 5:01 was basically asking for trouble. @wilson.claire touched on this, but those "posted hours" are more like "doors close at 5" not "last entry at 5.

Actually, I think you were already locked out at 5:02 because most Chase branches close at 5pm sharp, not 5:05. The posted hours usually say "5:00pm," meaning the doors lock right at that time, not that they let people in until 5. I had a similar thing happen at a bank in Hudson Yards where I showed up at 4:58 and they pointed at the clock. It's annoying for sure, but that extra minute might not have mattered since they probably start shutting down the lobby at 4:55 or so. Your credit union move sounds like a much better deal honestly.
