Vent: My mortgage guy used to call me every quarter, now it's just an app notification
Five years back, my broker would ring me up to talk rates and check in. Now, I get a push alert on my phone from his company's portal and that's it. Has anyone else's personal touch just vanished like this?

Call your guy directly. I did that last year, told him the app updates felt cold. He actually apologized and set a calendar reminder to call. @brookes37 is right, you gotta fight the account number feeling. A quick human chat can reset the whole relationship.

Ugh, does that make you feel like just another account number now?

...so my buddy had the same thing happen with his bank last year. He was just a number to them, getting those generic texts and emails. @matthewf40's idea is solid but it doesn't always work. My friend called his guy, guy said all the right stuff, then two weeks later back to the same automated junk. He finally just switched to a smaller credit union where they actually answer the phone. That fixed it better than any apology call ever could.
