Three years at a credit union flipped my opinion on bank fees
I used to shrug off the $12 monthly fee my big bank charged, figured that was just the price of having an account. After a rough patch in 2022, I moved everything to a credit union near my place in Cleveland, and the first statement had zero maintenance fees. Over the next 36 months, I added up the difference and it came to over $430 just in fees I avoided. The real kicker was when I needed a car loan, the credit union offered 4.2% while my old bank quoted 6.8% for the same terms. Has anyone else switched after running the actual numbers on what you pay per year?
