Wasted $60 on a fancy silicone baking mat that just slides around on the pan
Bought this expensive silicone mat from a kitchen store downtown because everyone raves about them. First batch of cookies and the thing was sliding all over the place. Dough ended up a mess and half the cookies fell off the edge. Tried putting water under it like some blogs said but that made it worse. Anyone got a cheap fix or do I just go back to parchment paper?

Oh man, that is SO frustrating, right?! I had the exact same problem with my first silicone mat and it drove me crazy. I thought I was doing something wrong but nope, they just slide around like they're on an ice rink. What kind of pan are you using it on? A little trick that actually helped me was putting a few tiny dabs of honey or maple syrup under the corners to stick it down, but honestly parchment paper is way less hassle for me now. I still use the mat for rolling dough because it doesn't move on the counter, but for baking I'm back to parchment 100 percent.
