Vent: The bakery in my town is selling these giant, underbaked cookies now
I stopped by Sweet Street Bakery in Springfield yesterday and they had a whole new case of these huge, fancy-looking cookies. I bought one (it was $4.50, which felt like a lot) and it was totally raw in the middle, like straight-up dough. I'm not talking a little gooey, I'm talking cold and pasty. I've noticed a few other places doing the same thing, making cookies so thick they can't bake through. It seems like a trend for looks over actually being good to eat. Has anyone else run into this, or found a bakery that does a big cookie right?

You mentioned it seems like a trend for looks over actually being good to eat. That hits the nail on the head. I've seen it too, where the cookie is just a thick disc of Instagram bait. My question is, are they doing this on purpose for a certain texture, or is it just bad baking? Like, is the raw middle the goal?

Ugh, that's the worst! You gotta ask them to bake it a few minutes longer, they usually will.

Wait, $4.50 for raw dough? That's actually insane. I agree with @reesesullivan, you should ask them to finish baking it, but you shouldn't have to. A cookie needs to be cooked, that's the whole point.
