My cakes were always flat, smh. Tried so many recipes with no luck. Saw a tip on reddit about oven temps being off. Grabbed a cheap thermometer online. Found out my oven runs cold, like 25 degrees low. Fixed the temp, and now my cakes rise like crazy. Total game changer, tbh.
Honestly thought oven thermometers were a total waste of money for the longest time. Figured the dial was good enough, you know? Then my brownies kept coming out raw in the middle and I caved and got one. My oven was like 30 degrees off, it was wild. @perry.skyler, you should really try it, I was the same with the guessing and praying. It feels kinda silly but it makes such a huge difference.
Wow, I feel called out because my oven is a total liar about its own temperature. I just sort of guess and pray every time I bake something. Maybe I should finally buy one of those thermometers too.
