I finally began timing my bread bakes after years of guessing.

I used to just go by look and smell, which often gave me burnt bottoms. Now with a simple timer, my loaves come out with a nice crust and soft middle every time. Have you found that timing things more carefully improved your baking results?

Works for cookies too, keeps them from over-baking.
