Hot take: sourdough discard recipes are overrated

I was talking to my neighbor Linda after she gave me a jar of her discard and asked if I had any good pancake recipes, and I told her I honestly just toss mine in the trash. Why add extra steps to use up something that's basically just waste?

Did your neighbor watch that TikTok where people claim discard pancakes are the best thing ever? My buddy Steve tried making crackers with his discard and spent two hours rolling dough only for them to taste like chewed up cardboard. He swore off the whole thing and went back to just buying bagels like a normal person.

Chewed up cardboard" is harsh but I actually love discard crackers though.
