Hot take: my worst baking week ever turned into my best recipe

Last Tuesday I tried making croissants for the first time and the butter exploded everywhere at 4am. It was a total mess, butter all over my counter, floor, and even the ceiling somehow. I was so mad I almost threw the dough out but decided to just wing it and made these weird flat buttery rolls instead. Three days later my neighbor tried one and now she orders 2 dozen every week for her coffee shop in Denver. Everyone says you have to follow the recipe exactly but I think sometimes failing hard is the only way to find something new. Has anyone else had a total disaster turn into a regular seller?

Honestly that "lucky accidents" line is way off, sometimes you gotta ignore the rules to find gold

Following exact steps is what separates consistent bakers from lucky accidents.
