Back when I started baking bread in my tiny kitchen in Dayton, I thought fancy gear was the answer to everything. I spent $95 on this whole attachment kit because some video convinced me my hands were the problem. Turns out the dough got just as sticky and just as good with the cheap whisk I already had in a drawer. My grandma baked for 40 years with a wooden spoon and a bowl, and I ignored that for a plastic box with six pieces. I gave the kit to my neighbor and she loves it, so at least someone got some use. Now I want to know, what gadget did you buy that you regret, and what cheap thing does the job better?
