Checked out that new baking supply shop on 5th, watch the flour bins
Stopped by Flour & Stone Supply downtown yesterday and the bulk flour bins were full of weevils, tiny bugs crawling right in the open bags. Mentioned it to the clerk and she shrugged, said they'd restock next month. Has anyone else seen this at their local shops, or am I just unlucky with the timing?

Right after I read this, I checked the bag of bread flour I got there last week and sure enough, tiny little crawlers in the bottom. Guess my sourdough starter's about to get some extra protein. That clerk shrugging it off is wild though, next month is a whole 30 day buffet for those things.
