Wasted $85 on a proofing basket setup when a $4 bowl and a towel did the same thing
Bought a fancy banneton and linen liner after reading that my dough needed to "breathe" during the final rise, and my loaves came out exactly the same as when I proof them in a mixing bowl with a floured dish towel over the top. That $85 would have bought me 40 pounds of flour. Anyone else feel like half the proofing gear out there is just selling you a look?
