Blew $150 on a fancy Dutch oven and it cracked on the second use

I figured a high-end enameled pot would last forever, but after one loaf of bread at 450 degrees, the bottom split right down the middle, has anyone else had luck with the cheaper Lodge ones instead?

Honestly, I gotta push back on blaming the pot for that. You threw a 450 degree loaf of bread in an enameled Dutch oven? That's kind of asking for trouble. Enamel is basically glass fused to metal, and glass doesn't love sudden extreme heat shifts. The cheaper Lodge ones are cast iron with enamel too, same risks if you treat them the same way. Ngl, I've had a cheap Lodge for years and never pushed it past 400 with bread, and it's fine. Sounds more like a user error than a product flaw to me.
