Am I the only one who thinks a digital scale beats measuring cups every time?

I used to swear by my cups, but after my last three sourdough loaves came out dense, I switched to grams. The difference in consistency was huge, especially for the starter. Do you think the extra precision is worth the hassle for everyday baking?

Switching to grams is a game changer for baking, especially with finicky stuff like sourdough.

Disagree completely, grams just add more stress. My grandma's handwritten cup measurements never failed a single loaf. All those tiny numbers make me second guess everything, and my kitchen scale batteries die at the worst times. Give me a trusty scoop and a good eye any day.

Oh man, I actually heard a really good point about this recently from a pastry chef on a podcast. She said grams are more consistent because flour density changes how much fits in a cup depending on humidity even in the same bag. I used to think my grandma's cup method was bulletproof too until I tried weighing out my sourdough starter exactly and got way better oven spring. The batteries die thing is real though, I keep a spare pair taped to the back of my scale for that exact reason. But once you get used to feeling the weight instead of eyeballing scoops, it just clicks.
