I defended a $60 parking ticket for 3 years until my cousin proved me wrong with a photo
Back in 2021 I got a ticket in Austin for parking in a spot that clearly had a sign saying no parking after 6pm. I was so sure the sign was around the corner and not on my side of the street. I fought it, paid the fine, and months later told my cousin the whole story during Thanksgiving. Last week he found the exact spot on Google Street View from 2019 and the sign was right there, plain as day. I argued with a city for 3 years over something I could have checked in 5 minutes. Has anyone else stubbornly doubled down on a wrong hot take and only realized it way later? Or am I the only one who trusts their memory this much?
