Watched my barred rock get her foot tangled in baling twine last Saturday
I was doing the morning feed in the run when I heard panicked flapping and found her snagged on a loose strand I never noticed, so now I walk the whole coop with scissors every Sunday. Anyone else find stuff like that hiding in plain sight, and what's your walk-through routine?
Walk the whole run with a rake first cause that's what snags the loose junk up high where you can't see it. Tbh I learned that one the hard way after a hawk got caught in old netting I forgot was back there. Check the corners and under the coop too, that's where twine and wire always end up hiding. You'd be surprised how much crap builds up in a year when you're not looking.
