That old neighbor who taught me how to handle a broody hen

Back in 2019, when I first started with chickens, I had this broody hen named Pearl who would not leave the nest box. I tried everything, moving her out, blocking the box, ice packs under her. Nothing worked. Then this older guy, Mr. Delgado from three houses down, came over after seeing me frustrated in the yard. He just watched for a minute and said, "You're fighting her instinct. Give her a separate pen with some shavings and one dummy egg. Let her sit it out for 3 days. She'll snap out of it on her own." I thought it was crazy, but I tried it. Day 3, she was back to normal, scratching around like nothing happened. That one conversation saved me a lot of headaches. Has anyone else had a moment where a random neighbor or friend gave you advice that just clicked?
